Waking up to a changed world

Heading into work on Thursday, I tuned in to CBC Radio in time to hear the Canadian prime minister and deputy prime minister address Russia’s invasion of Ukraine earlier that day.

Walkerton Legion’s meat draw rescheduled

Mother Nature sure dumped on us last Saturday. The blizzard forced the Walkerton Legion to close, and cancelled what would have been our first meat draw since reopening. The meat draw will now take place in two weeks, on Saturday, March 5 at 3 p.m.

Faith and pandemic

More than ever before, people question the purpose of faith in a “modern” world. Many people who are outside the church do not see the relevance of our ancient practices, prayers, scriptures and worship.

Walkerton Legion meetings back on track

President Rose Austin has announced that monthly general membership meetings will resume on Tuesday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the hall.  Legion general meetings will follow the COVID protocols in effect at the time.  

Flip the switch

Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD as it’s referred to, is a form of depression that occurs during the fall and winter months when there is less light. One of the main treatments for SAD is phototherapy, or light therapy, which uses light to provide healing and reduce the condition’s symptoms.
