CARGILL – The Cargill District Community Foundation (CDCF) is excited to announce, on its first anniversary of becoming a corporate non-profit organization, that it was able to disburse over $60,000 to the following recipients:
– Saugeen Hospice;
– Municipality of Brockton – cement pad for dumpster and steel roof on dugouts;
– Cargill Lawn Bowlers;
– Veteran signs for downtown Cargill;
– Saugeen Conservation – Children’s Safety Village;
– Walkerton and District Food Bank;
– Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation;
– School breakfast programs at Mary Immaculate Chepstow, Paisley Central, Walkerton District Community School, St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School and Immaculate Conception School;
– Sacred Heart High School bursaries for trades and agriculture;
– Walkerton District Community School bursaries for trades and agriculture; and
– Agricultural Skills Course – Bruce and Grey counties.
These funds were raised in the past year by a variety of fundraisers, including Ladies Day, Boys Night Out, community brunches, Cargill Cash Calendar and the Ladies Social Evening.
Many fundraisers are planned for 2023, such as Boys Night Out, Mother’s and Father’s Day brunches, Santa visit brunch, Caesar Sunday/Fish Fry, Pickin’ by the Pond Country Music Festival, and ending the year off with Cargill Homecoming Kick-Off New Years Eve Dance. Cargill Homecoming 2024 and a Cargill Cash Calendar are already in the works for 2024.
