BRUSSELS – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Brussels resident with several domestic assault charges following an investigation conducted by police yesterday.
On Aug. 4 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Huron OPP members responded to a residence in Brussels after receiving a call for assistance from the victim. Upon arrival, police met with the victim. An investigation revealed they were a victim of domestic assault.
Police later located and arrested the accused without incident.
A 47-year-old from Brussels is now facing charges consisting of:
- two counts of assault with a weapon;
- two counts of assault;
- assault causing bodily harm; and
- utter threats.
The accused has since been released from custody with an upcoming court appearance.
