Bruce Shriners donate to Walkerton hospital

The Bruce Shriners are pleased to present the Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation with a $500 cheque – one of 11 similar cheques being presented to the hospitals and hospices in the Bruce Shriners catchment area totaling $5,500. This is along with the $25,000 donated to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Montreal this year to furnish an examination room, which has been the group’s goal for this year. The Bruce Shrine members support and transport children in the area to Montreal for consultation with doctors and staff. The hospital in Montreal is now working with the Childrens Hospital in London for follow up. These funds were raised by hard-working members who, through their diligence, have raised the money by various fundraising projects. The major project has been the collection and processing of over 20 tons of aluminum pop and beer cans each year which are recycled, and enhance efforts to save the planet.
