WINGHAM – Britespan has recently acquired a neighboring property to its current Wingham operating facilities. According to a release, Britespan’s continued growth and business outlook drove the company to purchase the land that will increase their current footprint by 30 per cent.
“We have been fortunate to realize the growth we have,” President of Britespan, John MacDonald said in a release. “As an organization that has been identified as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies as announced by the Globe and Mail over the past six years, this property purchase and facility expansion was needed to support Britespan’s future capacity needs.”
Since its inception in 2010, Britespan has year over year seen an increase in sales volume in both national and international markets, the release stated. To support this progress and have optimal control of product quality and overall operations, Britespan has continued to invest in its infrastructure.
As a result, Britespan will be breaking ground this spring to expand their steel manufacturing plant square footage by 30 per cent to meet production demand.
In addition to the property purchase, Britespan has expanded its distribution hours by running two shifts to meet freight volume. The steel and fabric production facilities now operate seven days a week and an office expansion was recently completed to accommodate the growing number of staff in Britespan’s sales, engineering, and administration departments.
Britespan said in the release that their employee numbers have increased by three times in the last five years.
“Inventory investment in raw stock and finished goods is a key element of our success,” MacDonald said in the release. “We can respond faster and have more flexibility to meet our dealers and clients’ needs, a key strategic component of our organization.”
Britespan gave a special acknowledgment to Ron and Jennie Clark for their support and consideration in providing Britespan with the opportunity to acquire the property, as it is conveniently the neighboring property of their other facilities. The land acquired directly joins Britespan’s current manufacturing and distribution property creating more efficiency and optimization.
