On June 20, a fire was reported at a farm outside of Brussels at approximately 12 p.m. The barn that was aflame was destroyed in the blaze. Cranbrook Farms’ owner, Joe Terpstra, posted the following statement on Facebook following the incident; “We want to extend a huge thank you to our family, friends, neighbours and first responders for all of their amazing help and bravery on Tuesday. A barn is a special place where we learn to work together, say our first swear words, talk about life lessons- good and bad, life and death and most importantly, create a community of love with family and employees. The last two beams standing proves God has a plan for us and was watching over everybody on that day.” Huron County OPP estimate 70 cattle were lost in the blaze. (Melissa Dunphy photo)
