The Dec. 1 meeting of Bruce County council has more on the agenda than welcoming new members and electing a warden.

Mildmay celebrated the annual Hanging of the Green event with an array of festivities Friday evening, culminating in a wonderful Santa Claus parade.

As a prelude to his big night coming soon, Santa paid a visit to Walkerton on Saturday night, Nov. 26. Crowds lined the streets to welcome the “jolly old elf” and enjoy the parade held in his honour.

Mayor Chris Peabody opened the inaugural meeting of the 2022-26 term of council by thanking the citizens of Brockton for another four years.

The working poor – people with jobs, who “just can’t keep up” are the people who are now coming to the Walkerton and District Food Bank, according to food bank treasurer Maryanne Buehlow.

The Walkerton Capitals came close but ended up losing 5-4 to Wingham Friday night at the Clinton arena. Sunday’s home game saw Kincardine take a 3-0 lead in the first period, which the Capitals couldn’t overcome; final score was 4-1 for Kincardine.
