ATWOOD – The annual Atwood Santa Claus Parade will make its anticipated running a little earlier this year, with the event scheduled to roll down the town’s Main Street on Friday, Nov. 24.
The 2023 edition, hosted by the Atwood Lions Club, will get underway at 7 p.m. Those individuals, businesses and organizations planning on entering floats into the parade will not be required to pre-register, they can do so the night of the event.
No judging will take place nor prizes will be available, with the Lions stating on their Facebook page that “this parade is all about spreading joy and celebrating together. There’s no competition, so let your imagination run wild and create something magical for everyone to enjoy!”
Immediately following the main event, families are invited to the Lions’ covered ice rink behind the Elma Memorial Community Centre on Elma Centre Street to warm up with free hot chocolate. Santa Claus himself will also be on hand to hear children’s Christmas wishes, as well as for photo opportunities.
