NORTH PERTH – On Oct. 23 just after 10 p.m., an officer from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor-vehicle collision on Road 140 in the Municipality of North Perth.
When the officers arrived on scene, they observed the truck in a ditch. Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Ryan Looser, 27, of Atwood, has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
