I joined the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario because I wanted a say in choosing the next leader of the party. But whom do I choose? All three are against a carbon tax, and there is no evidence that any of them have a plan to address climate change. That means they are all for more floods, more droughts, more forest fires and more extreme weather events. Have they not heard the scientists say the climate is close to the tipping point? Do they not listen to the economists who say the most efficient, socially just, and transparent way to reduce GHG emissions and wean us off fossil fuels, is to apply a steadily increasing fee on carbon and return all of the proceeds equally to all of the people in Ontario? I want a leader who is concerned about providing a livable world for my children and grandchildren. That choice is not available in the PC party.
