It is with broken hearts, that we announce the passing of Christine Ann (Bartman) Reyes. Christine passed away, in the arms of her family on Monday October 5, 2026 in her 56th year.
Throughout her 11 month battle with cancer, she fought fiercely, remaining an unwavering beacon of positivity, strength, and grace, constantly lifting up and supporting those around her even in her toughest moments.
Christine’s heart belonged to her family. She was the fiercely independent and loving mother to Caden and Logan, serving as their biggest cheerleader in school, sports, and every step of life. Whether shouting from the sidelines, organizing travel, or offering words of wisdom, her boys were her absolute pride and joy.
She was a devoted wife and soulmate to her husband, Joe. Together, they shared a lifetime of adventures and cherished moments spent surrounded by family and friends.
Christine was driven, extraordinarily self-reliant and possessed a rare strength. Yet, her fierce independence was matched only by her selfless heart; she consistently put the needs of others before her own, bringing warmth, comfort, and unwavering support to everyone blessed enough to know her.
Christine dedicated her life to nursing, serving not only as a skilled caregiver but as an exceptional manager who treated her colleagues as true friends. Her work ethic was unmatched – she was always the first to arrive, the last to leave, and a steady leader who cared deeply for her team and patients alike.
Her legacy of love, dedication, and positivity will live on through her husband, Joe; her beloved sons, Caden (Erica) and Logan; and the countless family members, friends, colleagues, and patients whose lives she touched so deeply.
Beloved daughter of Nancy (Barley) Bartman of Listowel, and sister of Deanne & Tim Deelstra of Listowel, and Anita & Marty Felkar of Gowanstown, and sister-in-law of Crescencio & Sandy Reyes, and Gloria & Ed Ulecia, all of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Loving aunt to Gilbert, Alexis (Andrew), Mitch (Lauren), Jordan (Emily) and Hailey, and adoring great-aunt to Lennon.
Also remembered by her dear God daughter Katelyn Ruest.
Predeceased by her father Elroy Bartman, parents-in-law Cresencio & Viviana Reyes, brother-in-law Frank Reyes, and sister-in-law Lucy Rodriguez.
A special thanks to Pastor Reinhardt for the endless prayers and visits, and to Dr. Dietrich and all other doctors and nurses that supported Christine on her final journey.
Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday, October 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service was at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kurtzville on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Kurtzville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated.
