Erwin Danner

Erwin Danner went to his heavenly home peacefully on September 1, 2026, at the age of 93 with his family at his side.

Predeceased by his parents, Otto and Martha; two brothers, Raimond and Arthur; and his wife, Tosca (Langenegger). He is survived by his sons, Roland (Monika), and Carmen (Paul). Loving grandfather to his cherished grandchildren, Luke, Kate, Leo and Isabelle. He is survived by his brother, Otto, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, and friends. Fondly remembered by Rev. Ralph Dwarika (retired) and the Schildroth and Espensen families.

Erwin was a life-long entrepreneur, businessman and handyman, most notably remembered as the owner of Danner Home Hardware in Listowel for 20 years. After that, he worked at Elma Steel until his well-deserved retirement. He was active in his church throughout his life and held positions on Parish Council at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Listowel. He was passionate about automobiles and could identify the year, make, and model of any car at a glance; and he knew how to fix them, too. He enjoyed spending time with his dear friend Jack and helping maintain his vintage tractor collection.

At his request, cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home in New Hamburg on September 11, 2026, at 11:30 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am. Internment will take place after the service in Riverside Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the funeral home.

A special thank you to all the staff at Livingstone Manor in Listowel for their wonderful care and attentiveness.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Erwin can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Listowel.
