Steffler questions councillors’ motives

Dear Editor,

Well it seems the Wingham Horticultural Society lost our battle with North Huron council.

I do want to thank the two Wingham councillors for their support.

I understand CKNX had a ‘question of the day’ that week about the location of the Alice Munro Garden. I’ve been told 60 votes were for Riverside Park.

Putting the size of the Alice Munro Garden in a squeezed-in library lawn rather than an open space Riverside Park blows my mind. Doesn’t it make you wonder where the East Wawanosh and Blyth Councillors had their heads?

The town has not had the common courtesy to contact Munro’s daughter to inform of them of the town moving their mother’s garden.

When you do, be sure to tell them that the horticultural society is not in favour of the location and will no longer be looking after it.

Do I sound pissed off?

Verna Steffler,

 Wingham
