Brent Heinmiller opened up his North Perth farm and vast collection of farm machinery and equipment to visitors on Sunday Oct. 5 as part of the annual Tri -County Ag Machines and Memories Tour. Over 100 pieces of machinery, heirlooms, antique collectables and newer pieces of farm paraphernalia were on display throughout the yard, shop and grounds. Putting much time and dedication into a passion that began at the age of 16, Heinmiller also restores and refurbishes pieces, turning them from rust to colourful recreations of their former glory, including an old International that was his grandfather’s. Acquiring many pieces from estate sales and neighbours, the collection proved to be very impressive, as many who drive to partake in the Memories and Machines tour have returned to the Heinmiller farm year after year to see how the collection has expanded. The all-day event was organized by the Palmerston Agricultural Society and involved a total of 10 local farms, spanning Perth, Wellington and Huron Counties. Interested enthusiasts were welcome to drive to participating farms, listed on a provided map. The free event was enhanced by perfect weather.
