Three departments respond to Walkerton house fire

WALKERTON - Brockton Fire Chief Chris Wells said a house fire on McNab St., Walkerton, on Wednesday, April 16 resulted in three fire departments being called to the scene. The call came in just before 11:30 a.m. Initially, Walkerton firefighters responded, with police and paramedics also at the scene. Elmwood and Mildmay fire departments assisted. The fire was west of Sacred Heart High School. The entire neighbourhood, including the school property, was blanketed with smoke. Firefighters remained at the scene until 2:15 p.m. Wells said there were no injuries to report; the cause of the fire is under investigation. (Pauline Kerr photo)
