The family of Peter John McGowan are announcing that after a short illness Pete died January 1, 2025 in Walkerton.
Pete was loved by his wife Jan Briggs-McGowan, his sons Doug McGowan and Geordie McGowan (Vanessa Chard), as well as his stepdaughters Monique Morel-Peseski (Kara Peseski-Morel) and Nicole Whittle (Mark Whittle). He will be greatly missed by grandchildren Alex Bellhouse, John Bellhouse, Samantha Whittle, Katie Whittle, Katlyn McGowan and Kristopher McGowan. Pete was predeceased by his parents John and Mairiam (Grieve) McGowan, as well as his sister Betty Dubé.
Pete’s Party (as he wanted it called) will be held at the Walkerton Legion Branch #102 on February 15, 2025 from 1-3 pm. Please join his family in a toast to a life well-lived and please wear red or something to do with his beloved (often frustrating) Red Wings.
An internment will be held in April in North Bay.
