DGR would change nature of community

Dear editor:

Voting for the referendum has already begun.

The residents of South Bruce have a big decision to make regarding the DGR (Deep Geological Repository) project.

But as of today, there are still people who don’t know about this multi-million dollar project. We still  are not sure about  the quality of our drinking water and our health  because no similar project has been completed anywhere.

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization can’t really answer questions because they are not sure, or don’t have the answer.

The people that live within South Bruce  can vote for the project  but it is the future generations of South Bruce, my neighbors, and my grandchildren who have to live with it.

Busy roads and heavy equipment on the roads. South Bruce is not going be quiet and peaceful anymore if this DGR  comes to South Bruce.

I am not telling you how to vote but you can’t trust anyone anymore.

It is also a big risk factor on people’s mental health.
