Ena Kramer passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Walkerton Hospital, on Friday, August 2, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Ray Kramer (2011). Loving mom of Pat (Jenine) of Godfrey, Sharon (Steve Dales) of Walkerton, Rob (Deanna, deceased, 2022) of Athabasca, Alberta, Sara (Bryan Preston) of Walkerton, and Krista (Sean Ellen) of Granville, Ohio. Adoring Nana to Amanda (Steve), Brooke (Ethan), Morgan (Aaron), Nic (Kristin), Alex (Tavia), Marisa (Jeff), Sean (Chelsea), Bradley, Jason (Brittany), Daniel (Trish), Jaime, Nathan, Jake, Will, Syd and River. She was GG to Asher, Rowe, Mackenna, Connor, Arlen, Rory, Sophie, Van, Hazel, Evelyn, Elijah, Aerith, Athelia and ‘Froggie’ who is arriving soon. Ena was loved by many siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. A special mention to Julie and Steve McConnell and family. They became Ena’s neighbours in 1997 and became her best friends for life. They will miss their beloved “Kramer”. As we always liked to say, “it takes a village to raise Nana!”
Ena was born in the Netherlands on June 19, 1940 during WW II. Her parents immigrated to Canada in May of 1949 and her father died in a tragic accident in October of 1949. Their mother raised 6 kids until her early death in 1960. Ena married Ray on December 29, 1962. They had an amazing life full of family, travel and many adventures. After caring for Ray for several years while he battled dementia, Ena fully embraced her life after that. She loved her adventures with the travelling aunts; Brenda, Lia, Mary Lou and Deb. Special appreciation goes to Mark and Marty who always took great care of her and had many fun times with her. She loved her time spent with her brothers and sisters: Casey(2019) (Brenda), Maria (Randy), Jack, Lia and Don (Mary Lou) and Deb (Joe) who was a niece but got to hang with the grownups.
Ena was a force to be reckoned with and she will be greatly missed. We encourage you to wear blue, enjoy a gin or glass of red wine, love your family and embrace life as Ena did.
Celebration of Life for Ena will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the home of Sharon & Steve Dales, 321 South Street, Walkerton.
A private family interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mildmay.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
