We have been having a garage sale to support the building of our new Saugeen Hospice in southern Grey-Bruce for many years. Last year we had a very huge one which raised nearly $15,000. We are so very grateful for the generous support from all the surrounding communities.
We really need more hospice beds in Southern Grey Bruce as we have an aging population and not nearly enough beds to care for people in their last years of life.
I believe no one should die alone and we should allow each and everyone to die with as much dignity as possible.
I have been involved with palliative care for several years and have learned so much from sitting with a dying person. He/she is so grateful to have someone to talk with or just sit and hold their hand.
Please support our garage sale again this year at the Agricultural Building #2 in Walkerton. On June 4th & 5th good used items can be dropped off there. The sale is June 7 ftom 8am to 8pm, June 8 from 8am to 5pm, June 9, 11am-3pm.
All of us working together we can make Saugeen Hospice a reality.
