Ada Horst (nee Martin) – passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus. Ada Horst of Arthur and formerly of Milverton in her 84th year.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Horst who predeceased her January 3, 2016. Loving mother of Mark & Lena Horst of Ethel, Martha & Raymond Frey of New Liskeard, Bill & Angie Horst of Millbank, Jim & Rhoda Horst of Listowel, Ruth & Bruce Shoemaker of Arthur, Paul & Cheryl Horst of Elmira, Elsie & Fred Metzger of Hesson. Sadly missed by 29 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Salome Martin, Elvina & Orvie Wideman, Samuel & Susan Horst, William & Ingrid Horst, Henry & Julia Horst, Ivan & Ruthann Horst, Nelson Horst, John & Martha Horst and Clayton & Erma Horst,
Ada was predeceased by parents Moses & Elizabeth (Burkhart) Martin, stepmother Harriet (Brubacher) Martin, stillborn son Moses, grandson Andrew Frey, brothers and sisters Leander & Maryann Martin, Melvin Brubacher, Magdalena & Ervin Bowman, Hannah& Edwin Martin, Sarah Martin, Sydney & Annie Martin, Christian Martin, Ervin Martin, brothers and sisters-in-law Salome & Edward Habegger, Allan & Emma Horst, Mahlon & Bev Horst, Rueben & Kathleen Horst and Eva Horst.
Ada was a member of Fair Haven Mennonite Church, R.R. # 1 Newton.
Family and friends were received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A family service was held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, and transfer will follow to Fair Haven Church and cemetery for the interment and the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.
