Local Poppy Rocks project honours veterans buried in area cemeteries

Friends, family members and volunteers gathered at Purdy’s Cemetery this past summer to honour the veterans buried there. WALKERTON – A group of local citizens, several with connections to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102, Walkerton, or other Legion branches, have been honouring veterans buried in local cemeteries with Poppy Rocks – stones painted with the poppy symbol of remembrance.
