It’s not often that you see Maple Leafs and Canadiens fans, or Flyers and Penguins fans, getting along, but that was the case on Saturday night at Parkview Gardens. ‘Remember ’59 – A Hockey Party’ was just that – a party – with more than 200 people in attendance all wearing their favourite hockey jersey in support of the Memorial Arena Park 59 project. Entertainment was provided by Need An Elevator, and a first-class silent and live auction raised funds for the project. MAP59 Committee Chair Jerry Rozendal said people attended from as far away as Hamilton and Kincardine. “It is almost like a homecoming,” he said.
