James Richard Thompson of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 1, 2023, in his 84th year.
Husband of Hannah (Szlapa) Thompson, and the late Carol (Matheson) Thompson. Father of Reg & Judy Thompson of Ilderton, Rod Thompson & Karen St. Hill of Rockwood, and Laurie Thompson & John Wilson of Cobble Hill, BC. Also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Brother of Elizabeth Thompson of Listowel.
Predeceased by his parents Campbell & Vera (McIntosh) Thompson, and brother Robert Thompson.
Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. The service was livestreamed, and the link is available on the funeral home website. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
