Frances Marie Kraemer

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 28, 2023 in the comfort of her home. Frances was born 80 years ago, the oldest daughter of the late Jerome and Clara (Koebel) Wagner.

Cherished and beloved wife of Richard Kraemer for 60+ years. Devoted mother of Joanne Kraemer Hickox (Bryan), Paul Kraemer (Lisa), Jim Kraemer (Sherry), and Rosemary Brodt (Kevin). Proud grandmother of Chad, Michael, Mitchel, Rodney, Wesley, Nicholas, Dylan, Tyler (Shawnee), Shea, Jessica, Lilith and Ryan. Great-grandmother of Evelyn, Lillee and Violet. Frances will be deeply missed by her siblings Joan Wagner Hobb and Dianne Moser (Wayne), by in-laws Maria Wagner, Ann Bender, Ann Dalton, Sandra Jordan, Lucy Dobson, David Kraemer (Carol), Audrey Gleeson (Pat), Theresa Golem (Peter), Bernie Kraemer (Janet), and by her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her brother Leonard Wagner and by in-laws Gord Hobb, Ken Bender, Joe Kraemer, Larry Kraemer, and Brian Dobson.

Frances was a 4’11 1/2” (don’t forget the 1/2”) spitfire of a woman whose smile was beautiful, who’s laugh was infectious, and whose love for her family and friends was endless. She was known to be an excellent maker of sweet treats (gooky brownies) and a renowned potato salad.

Franny or ‘Gus’ as some knew her was a hard working, generous person who spent her life supporting her husband and family … always there with a helping hand when needed.

She was a longtime active member of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Parish and served on the Catholic Women’s League for over 55 years. For the last 35 years, she was at her happiest spending her winters in Florida visiting dear friends in Buttonwood Bay, and on some of her many adventures with the ‘Six Pack’.

Fran was an avid puzzler, a super quilter and always enjoyed her card games with friends and family. She was a woman of great tenacity which was truly revealed through her courageous 5 year fight with cancer, which she went through with great grace and a zest for life.

She was loved and supported by all her wonderful neighbours in Brunner and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Special thank you to all the local home care nurses and the medical staff who helped her through her 3 surgeries in Stratford, London and Toronto but especially to the oncology team at Grand River Hospital for their excellent care over the course of her cancer journey.

Relatives and friends were invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. A Funeral mass was held at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Parish on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
