It is with a mixture of sadness and peace that we let you know of the passing of Harold Jackson Bowman, formerly of Listowel, at Huronlea, Brussels, on Saturday, July 29, 2023, on the day before his 97th birthday year.
Husband of Ruth (Climo) Bennett, and the late Isabel (Haynes) Bowman. Father of Elaine & Tim Walters of Barrie, Donna & Don Weber of Thorndale, Anita & Ricardo Horton of Georgetown, Eldon & Sandra Bowman of Fordwich, Sheila & Dan Lee of Chapleau, and father-in-law of Brenda Bowman of Clifford. Grandfather of Jonathan (Heather), Emily (Travis), Joel (Karli), Mark (Angela), Sarah (Ryan), Dennis (Kelly), Angela (Dan), Phil, Pamela (Tyler), Andrea, Nicole (Adam) Tyler (Kim), Cassie (Liam), Laura (Brandon), Daniel (Caralee), Michael (Pamela), Sam, John, Stephen (Vicki), Josiah, Jason, Karl, and Kaitlyn. Great-grandfather of 33, and great-great-grandfather of 1. Also remembered by Ruth’s family. Predeceased by his son Leroy Bowman (2004), parents Jackson and Lillian (Waldon) Bowman, and siblings Lawrence & Ruth Bowman, Alvin & Dorcas Bowman, Keith & Mae Bowman.
We celebrate a life lived well, not perfectly, but with purpose and constancy. We also celebrate the faithfulness of God to our Dad. That was his life story from the age of 21 when he surrendered his life to God and experienced the “joy of the Lord”. That was what marked his life from then on, despite the highs and lows of life. Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Listowel Pentecostal Church on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. The service will be livestreamed and the link available on the funeral home website. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
