WALKERTON – The Bruce County Public Library Walkerton Branch will host Debbie Schenk’s dynamic art until July 15.
The art exhibition serves as a celebration of local talent and speaks to the rich artistic talent thriving in Walkerton.
Schenk is a local mixed media artist who grew up in Walkerton and returned after attending the Ontario College of Art in the ‘70s. Schenk held her first solo show at the Durham Gallery in 2004 and has been working in various forms of art ever since; she considers herself primarily a painter but also enjoys creating metal sculptures.
Schenk’s paintings are mixed media, beginning with collage to build texture and layers; other media are added, including encaustic. The common thread in whatever medium she is working in is storytelling.
The Art Wall is open to the public during regular library hours, providing a welcoming and accessible experience for everyone.
