HURON COUNTY – Fire chiefs in Huron County have issued an open-air fire ban, effective immediately.
The ban was announced late Thursday night, coming into effect at midnight.
A short statement released on behalf of Huron County fire chiefs states the ban has been put in place due to the extreme dryness of all vegetation in the area, and shall remain in effect until further notice.
Additionally, no burn permits will be issues until the ban is lifted.
The county’s fire chiefs encourage residents with questions to contact their local fire department.
