Foundation provides nearly $500K for equipment, projects at Wingham hospital

WINGHAM – Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation was able to support the purchase of $478,440 in equipment and facility upgrades from the Wingham and District Hospital. These funds represent the donations made in the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

Some of the equipment and projects that were supported include:

– an IV pump full fleet upgrade;

– cardiac monitor upgrades;

– medicine carts and workstation on wheels;

– in-patient phones and TVs;

– a refresh of the staff change room;

– an AED (defibrillator) for the emergency room; and

– financial support for the Wingham and Area Health Professionals Recruitment Committee.
These funds were raised through bequests, grants, the CKNX Healthcare Heroes Radiothon, memorial and general donations to the Foundation, and other fundraisers.

“Thank you to everyone who made a gift to the Foundation in the past year,” stated Nicole Duquette, executive director of the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation. “The commitment of donors helps put vital medical tools in the hands of our dedicated caregivers. Donations made to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation mean the entire community benefits from high quality healthcare close to home.”
