WALKERTON – Amanda Rheaume will be performing at Victoria Jubilee Hall on Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m.
This Ottawa born-and-based singer-songwriter has released five albums over a period of 15 years, and her career is peppered with countless tours and milestones.
Her 2013 album Keep a Fire was nominated for a JUNO Award and won a Canadian Folk Music Award for Indigenous Songwriter of the Year. Her most recent album, 2022’s The Spaces In Between, was reviewed as “an honest, introspective, exploration of identity, unfolding across 13 blended folk and rock songs that tell an important story.”
Her rootsy, guitar-driven ballads introduce crucial dimensions to the world of Heartland Rock. But Rheaume can’t be pegged into one genre, instead moving between rock, folk, country, blues and jazz stylings depending on what she is saying, and which genre best suits it.
Rheaume has toured North America extensively, as well as in Europe. In fact, she leaves for a tour of Belgium, Austria and Germany immediately after her appearance in Walkerton.
Tickets are $40 and available at ticketscene.ca, at Holst Office Supplies and Brown’s Guardian Pharmacy in Walkerton, or by calling Victoria Jubilee Hall at 519-881-2826.
