Conservation Authority launches public survey to improve accessibility

FORMOSA – Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) has announced the launch of a public survey aimed at understanding and improving accessibility across its properties, website, the permit process, watershed report cards and more.

The SVCA is committed to working towards providing inclusive and accessible experiences to all members of the community and seeks valuable public input to guide its efforts.

The survey, available both online and in print format, covers both physical and informational accessibility. Participants will be asked about their experiences with accessing Saugeen Conservation properties and information. The data collected from the survey will be used to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance accessibility for all users. The SVCA recognizes the importance of inclusivity and is dedicated to making its services available to everyone.

The survey results will help SVCA staff to better understand the needs and preferences of the community, allowing them to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment.

“We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the natural beauty and resources that our conservation areas have to offer. Further, we believe that the permitting and planning processes and accessibility of our water resource data catalogue should be accessible to all and easily understandable. This survey is an important step towards identifying and addressing any barriers to accessibility and learning from our community’s experiences,” said Jennifer Stephens, general manager.

The public survey can be accessed online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/SVCAAccess and will be open until April 24. Printed copies of the survey are available at the SVCA administrative office in Formosa. Completed print surveys can be returned to the SVCA office or mailed to the address provided on the survey form. All survey participants will have the opportunity to enter a draw for a chance to win a one-year parking pass to all Saugeen Valley conservation areas and applicable properties.
