Robert Donald ‘Bob’ Heintzman, formerly of Kitchener passed away at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in his 94th year.
Husband of the late Shirley (Spiegelberg) Heintzman. Loving father of Cindy & Roger Martin of Port Colborne, and Diane Bridge of Gorrie. Proud and amazing Poppi of Rebecca Bridge & Dave Fletcher of Swan River, MB, Bobbi Loughran & Bryce Taylor of Gorrie, Jonathan Bridge of Gowanstown, and Benjamin Bridge & Morgan Lander of London, and great-grandpoppi of Travis (Anna), Tyler, Cole, Denver (Jasmine), Kennedy, Ede, and Ethan. Predeceased by his parents Joseph & Bertha (Simmons) Heintzman, sisters June Huntington, and Ruth Black, and brother Roy Heintzman.
Bob was born in Kitchener on February 3, 1929, and worked for the city of Kitchener from 1969 until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed his time at the trailer in Southampton, and he loved fishing, bragging about fishing, and his derby prizes. His grandchildren were blessed by the many hours they spent fishing with him and have countless memories. Bob loved spending time at the family’s hobby farm and with the animals, especially his sidekick, the chihuahua Mr. Jenkins.
He will be forever remembered for his quirky sense of humor, hours spent tinkering around the farm and his inability to fix anything properly the first time, but mostly for his unconditional love, care, and support of his family. He will be forever loved and greatly missed.
A private family service will be held, with interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Memorial donations to Humane Society or Knollcrest Lodge Residents Council would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
