John Joseph ‘Joe’ Simpson of Listowel passed away surrounded by his family at University Hospital, London, on Thursday, March 2, 2023 in his 72nd year.
Husband of Joyce (Cleland) Simpson. Loving father to Joe Simpson of Trowbridge, Sarahbeth Simpson and Chris Coates of Listowel, and Jonathan and Jennifer of London. Proud and loving Papa Joe to Trista and Kyler.
Brother-in-law to LaVern Beyer, and Glenn and Ulrike Cleland, and remembered by his niece Tracy Beyer, nephew Tim Beyer, and by their families.
Predeceased by his parents Donald and Florence (Ronald) Simpson, and by his sister Gloria Beyer.
Joe loved his chosen profession. He taught many subjects but history was his favourite. He retired in 2005. Joe enjoyed cottage life with his family. He had a great passion for airplanes. Joe’s family meant everything to him.
Celebration of Joe’s life will be held at Parkview Gardens (Listowel Legion) on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 11:30 a.m.
Memorial donations to Listowel Foodbank or Foundation for Education would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
