Tragically as the result of a motor vehicle crash, Chris Hamers of Gorrie, and his daughter Jody Hamers of Fordwich, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
Chris Hamers was born in Helmond, Netherlands, on July 27, 1956. Beloved husband of Annalies (vanRaalte) Hamers. He was 66 years old.
Jody Hamers was born in Listowel, Ontario, on July 6, 1990. Loved partner of Matt Czajkowski, loving stepmother of Torie and Brock, and caring daughter of Annalies and the late Chris Hamers. She was 32 years old.
Chris is remembered by his daughters, and Jody by her sisters; Catherine ‘Cathie’ Hamers and Callum Johnstone of Thunder Bay, and LeeAnn and Mark Willits (and their son Hank) of Wingham. Loved and remembered also by Annalies’ mother Trien vanRaalte of Netherlands, and by Matt’s mom Karen Brewer and husband Lawrence of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland.
Chris and Jody thrived working together as a unique team. Both were very passionate about their work in the mechanical and agricultural industries, specifically poultry.
A time to gather, support, and honour their lives was held at Chris’ shop, 2004 Albert St. N., Gorrie, on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Casual dress was appreciated. Interment in Gorrie Cemetery.
