WROXETER – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), Grey-Bruce CSCU, Huron OPP Major Crime Unit, West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit and West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) last week resulted in the seizure of various property, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
On Feb. 2, OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Centre Street in Wroxeter.
According to a media release, a quantity of property was seized, including digital scales, electronics, prohibited knives, brass knuckles, a modified pistol grip pellet gun, $500 in Canadian currency, and live rounds of ammunition. Police also seized quantities of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The combined estimated value of the seized property is $2,330.
The combined estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is $3,800.
Three individuals have been charged as a result of the raid last week.
A 34-year-old Howick Township woman has been charged with:
- possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine;
- possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl;
- two counts of fail to comply with probation;
- three counts of fail to comply with release order;
- eight counts of possession contrary to a prohibition order; and
- two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon.
The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing.
A 30-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance – fentanyl, and a 48-year-old Durham man was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance – fentanyl and breach of recognizance.
Both men were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Goderich court on March 6.
