“The investigation determined a former employee was swindling money totalling over $175,000 from the business, where he was employed for several years,” states the release from Christopher Knoll, chief of police.
The accused, 55-year-old Christopher Dewdney, has been charged with:
- 47 counts of theft under $5,000;
- six counts of forgery;
- five counts of theft over $5,000;
- five counts of fraud over $5,000;
- fraud under $5,000; and
- criminal breach of trust.
Hanover Police say Dewdney has since been released and is scheduled to appear in Walkerton court today (Dec. 14, 2022) to answer to the charges.
