NORTH PERTH – The Perth County OPP have laid charges in relation to a sexual assault on a youth that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth.
On Oct. 12 just before 9 p.m., police responded to a residence in North Perth for a report of a sexual assault. The victim was located and transported to an out-of-town hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation determined that the accused met the victim online after using a fake identify.
As a result, a 27-year-old resident of Listowel was arrested and charged with: Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle, sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, sexual interference, forcible confinement, and uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
