Radiothon raises more than $22,000 for Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation

WALKERTON – The CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon has raised more than $22,000 for the Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation so far.

The Oct. 15 radiothon benefited eight area hospital foundations, including Walkerton, and has raised over $320,000 this year.

The Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation says that, as of Oct. 20, $22,865 has been raised towards its $30,000 goal for a new anesthetic machine for the operating room.

“This equipment is essential to the operation of the OR, which provides elective general surgery, endoscopy, and specialty services, and also supports the Dr. R.J. Creighton Family Birthing Centre for C-sections,” states a release from the Foundation.

Donations toward the campaign are being accepted until Dec. 1, and can be made online, in person or by mail.

Online donations can be made at cknx.ca/health-care-heroes-radiothon or walkertonhospitalfoundation.com. Donations can be dropped off at the Foundation office at 21 McGivern St. in Walkerton, or by mail at PO Box 1300, Walkerton, ON, N0G 2V0.

Christmas Campaign

The Foundation’s Christmas Campaign is another great way to make a year-end donation to the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation.

Every December, donors have the opportunity to honour a friend, commemorate a loved one or recognize themselves by writing a message on a Christmas ornament which is proudly showcased throughout the Christmas season on the display outside of the Foundation Office. Proceeds from this campaign go towards the Foundation’s current goals.
