Domestic investigation leads to charges for both parties

NORTH PERTH – The Perth County OPP has charged North Perth residents after police responded to a disturbance.

On Aug. 7 just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the Municipality of North Perth. It was determined that one person involved in the disturbance had assaulted the other. The victim was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

During the investigation, it was also disclosed that on Aug. 4, 2022, there was a domestic disturbance, and a second person was arrested and charged.

As a result, a 30-year-old male resident of North Perth has been arrested and charged with: Assault – spousal (two counts), fail to comply with probation order, mischief – spousal, uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, and assault with a weapon – spousal. The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Another 30-year-old female resident of North Perth has been arrested and charged with assault – spousal. The female was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
