Driver charged after vehicle hits transport truck

NORTH PERTH – One person has been charged after they tried to avoid a collision at the last second.

On June 23 just after 3 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Perth Fire Department, and the Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a collision on Perth Line 86 in the Municipality of North Perth. The investigation indicated that a vehicle travelling on Perth Line 86 tried to swerve to avoid hitting a transport truck but made contact with the rear of the transport and landed in the ditch.

The lone occupant was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 29-year-old resident of Waterloo has been charged with careless driving. The accused was issued a Provincial Notice for the offence.
