Van Allen Insurance charity BBQ raises more than $15K for cystic fibrosis

Van Allen Insurance Inc. in Listowel was a busier spot than usual on May 19, as the local business conducted the eighth edition of its fundraising barbecue in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Van Allen handled 365 pre-ordered meals, serving approximately 850 total lunches over the course of the afternoon while raising an impressive $15,600 for the cause. “It was a day of amazing team building as we stepped away from our desks and became the most efficient burger preppers  and grillers we could,” commented owner Shane Van Allen. “A lot of planning goes into that day.
