NORTH PERTH – The Perth County OPP has laid charges against a North Perth resident following a historical sexual assault investigation.
In a press release on April 28, police say the assaults took place between August 2021 and April 2022.
“Police began the investigation when the victim reported that they were being harassed by a person they used to be in a relationship with,” states the release. “Further information was disclosed about previous unwanted sexual contact.”
On April 20, police arrested a 25-year-old North Perth resident. The accused is charged with:
- assault – spousal;
- sexual assault;
- criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to answer to the charges.
‘Not alone’
“Victims of sexual assault/domestic violence are not alone,” police stated.
“If you, or someone you know, is in need of support, there are local resources available to help.”
