MILDMAY – A special games day fundraiser is being held on Saturday, April 30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Highway 9, between Mildmay and Walkerton.
Organizers Peter and Jo-Ann Carter say approximately 80 people will be at the event. There have been some cancellations due to COVID but others are stepping in to replace them.
Among those attending will be some world champion crokinole players, some coming from as far as Penetanguishene, London, Kitchener-Waterloo and Elmira. Two card players are coming from London.
The event will feature a Poor Boy’s Lunch, 50-50 draw and plenty of prizes. Thanks to generous donations from area merchants and businesses, there’ll be some unique prizes including a night’s stay at the Best Western in Walkerton, and a $150 lawn package from Parrish and Heimbecker of Amberley.
Best of all will be the opportunity to help the people of Ukraine.
