Palmerston resident charged for second time in 48 hours

Accused was previously charged during domestic incident on March 25

LISTOWEL – For the second time in a span of 48 hours, Perth County OPP have charged a Palmerston resident following a domestic incident in the Municipality of North Perth.

On March 27 around 6 p.m., police received a report of a domestic incident occurring at a Krotz Street West address in Listowel.

“During the investigation, it was learned that one person was currently violating previous release conditions,” states a media release from Perth County OPP.

Police arrested a 24-year-old Palmerston resident and charged them with failure to comply with undertaking.

The accused was held for bail, released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Earlier incident

Two days earlier, on March 25 around 5:30 p.m., police were called to a North Perth address for a report of a person breaking into a residence. According to police, the accused damaged the door of the victim and no injuries were reported.

The accused was arrested and charged with mischief – domestic in that case.

Police confirmed the 24-year-old Palmerston resident charged on March 27 is the same individual charged in the March 25 incident.
