Attempted murder charge laid in recent shooting

BLUEWATER – A Morris-Turnberry man is among those charged at a recent shooting that took place near Brucefield.

Among the charges, the Huron County OPP Crime Unit have laid an attempted murder charge against one of the accused in connection with this incident.

On March 20 at approximately 5:19 p.m., Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to an altercation located west of Brucefield on Bannockburn Line.

Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim that had sustained injuries from a gunshot. The victim has since been released from hospital.

Jeffrey Williamson, 45, from Central Huron has been charged with attempt murder; discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner; careless use of a firearm, and; aggravated assault.

He remained in custody until a video court appearance on March 30.

Donald Williamson, 33, from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with: discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner; careless use of a firearm, and; aggravated assault.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 2 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
