Teeswater driver facing refusal charge

MORRIS-TURNBERRY – A young driver from Teeswater is facing a refusal charge following a traffic incident investigation conducted by Huron County OPP last week.

According to police, just after 8 p.m. on March 17 a witness called police to report a motor vehicle was stuck in a farmer’s field off of Howick-Turnberry Road.

Police say soon after officers arrived on scene and spoke with the driver. Upon speaking with the driver, the investigating officer noted “the driver had been consuming alcohol therefore a demand was made for a roadside test.”

The driver ultimately failed to provide a suitable breath sample, police said in a release, and as a result he was placed under arrest and charged.

Dylan Soehner, 22, from Teeswater has been charged with refusal to comply with demand.

He was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 2 in Goderich.
