COVID-19 outbreak declared at Listowel Memorial Hospital

LISTOWEL – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on the first-floor complex continuing care unit of Listowel Memorial Hospital. At the time of the announcement on Saturday, March 12, two patients and one staff member have been identified as part of the outbreak. 

The hospital is working very closely with Huron Perth Public Health in responding to the outbreak. All applicable staff and physicians have been requested to have a COVID test.

Admissions are no longer being accepted on the complex continuing care unit. Patients who require admissions will be admitted to the second-floor medicine unit or to neighbouring hospitals.

Emergency department visits, ambulatory care services, operating room procedures, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging and specialist visits continue to occur. Only essential visitors will be permitted on the complex continuing care unit until further notice.
