Bruce County thanks those who donated to Dorrel Young Christmas program

BRUCE COUNTY – Bruce County would like to thank all who gave the gift of hope and inclusion for children and families in need during the 2021 holiday season.

Bruce County’s human services department ran another successful Dorrell Young Christmas Program in 2021, thanks to the support and donations of the community.

The Dorrell Young Christmas Program benefited from over $27,000 in generous donations in 2021, which directly supported 177 families and served 332 children in total.

Annually, the Dorrell Young Christmas Program provides a gift, often a toy, book, or article of clothing, for children and teenagers served by Bruce County’s human services department, whose families and caregivers struggle during the holiday season. The program supports children within Bruce County, as well as supporting adult members of households through sponsorship. The program relies solely on donations, through the support of generous individuals and organizations in our community.

“Thank you to all the amazing sponsors, volunteers, and donors who participated in our 2021 program,” said Bruce County Warden Janice Jackson. “Your generous contributions to this meaningful cause support children and families in our communities.”
