Two domestic incidents reported in Listowel

LISTOWEL – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Stratford resident after they damaged property during a domestic occurrence.

On Feb. 21 just before 1:30 p.m., police were called to an address on Davidson Avenue North in Listowel for two people having an argument. During the investigation, it was determined that one person involved had damaged property belonging to the other. The victim was not injured.

A 25-year-old resident of Stratford has been arrested and charged with mischief – domestic, and breach of recognizance.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

In the second incident, Perth County OPP has charged a North Perth resident after a person was assaulted during a domestic occurrence.

On Feb. 17 just after 1 p.m., police were called to an address on Salisbury Avenue in Listowel for two people having an argument. During the investigation, it was determined that one person involved had assaulted the other. The victim received minor injuries as a result.

A 31-year-old resident of North Perth has been arrested and charged with assault – spousal.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
