Listowel driver involved in crash south of Ariss, facing charges

TOWNSHIP OF PILKINGTON – A Listowel resident is facing charges following a two-vehicle crash in December south of Ariss.

In a media release on Jan. 21, Wellington County OPP stated the crash took place on Dec. 9 around 10:45 p.m. on Wellington Road 39.

Police say initial reports indicated two vehicles collided, and that one of the vehicles left the scene. A short while later, police received a report of a single vehicle in a ditch on Ariss Valley Road.

All parties involved in the crash were located by police.

Following their investigation, Wellington County OPP have charged Cameron Vogan, 24, from Listowel with impaired operation, failure to comply with demand for breath, failure to stop after accident, and G1 driver unaccompanied by a qualified driver.

As per statute, a 90-day administrative driver’s license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated.

The accused was scheduled to appear in Guelph court on Jan. 28 to answer to the charges.
