NORTH PERTH – A Stratford resident is facing drug trafficking charges along with an impaired operation charge following a collision in North Perth last week.
The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police, the North Perth Fire Department and Perth County Paramedic Services responded on Feb. 1 just before 9 p.m. to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Line 58, in the Municipality of North Perth. The vehicle involved had ended up in the ditch.
The driver was not injured in the collision, but was showing signs of impairment. They were arrested and transported to a police operations centre for further examination through a drug recognition evaluation. The accused was also found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Devon Cuerden, 32, of Stratford, has been charged with: Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid.
